was on a plane at that time today traveling from Colorado, where I live, to
Washington D.C., where I am right now, for our annual GOPUSA Issues and Action
Conference. If you look at our website you can verify that conference starts
tomorrow.
It would have been much wiser of you to inquire before jumping to the conclusion
that I made such a post. Instead you have made false accusations against me.
I have looked at the front page of your site very briefly as I just left team
meetings for our conference. I will inspect the site more fully in the morning.
But, I would advise you now that if you have made public accusations against me,
or against GOPUSA, it is libel and character assassination.
My lack of computer access today and the fact that I was not at the IP# you gave
me is very easily proven.
I request that you issue a full apology at once.

The ignorant diatribe that was here came from someone who was such a coward that he or she would not give their real name, and further, attributed their comment to Terri (and there is someone named Terri) at GOPUSA.com. I was a fan of your brother's writing. I read his stuff every time he was

I got both your notes, this one and the briefer, earlier version of this one. As I mentioned to Terri, and to everyone else, I did jump to conclusions. For that I do apologize. But when I couldn't find Terri's actual e-mail on the GOPUSA site, and the e-mail that I sent to the phony address didn't come back with an error -- or rather, I thought it hadn't; it had actually gone to my spam folder, where I didn't see it until much later -- I wasn't sure what to think. I just wanted to act.
I'm going to chalk up your comment to pure denial. Aaron never backed down from a fight, so I'm going to say that you couldn't believe that you heard the final bell, and you tossed out another jab, and you were actually hoping for a response. I understand that. Sometimes it's hard to open your eyes and face the bright, shining mourning.
I've had some time to think about this. We understand why each said what they did. We have no beef with each other. You need to deeply apologize to Terri (and yes, by extension, GOPUSA), who has been extraordinarily understanding and is about the most innocent bystander I can think of, with all this. You couldn't have picked some other name?? Or made up one??
Carry a little bit of this event with you. Try to see people a little clearer, a little better. Ask a lot more questions, and really listen to the answers.

Upon returning from D.C. early this week, I was able to trace the poster of the evil message to an Internet troll that I had banned from GOPUSA's forum on at least four separate occasions. Due to the efforts of GOPUSA's President and CEO Bobby Eberle, this individual has admitted that he made the post to discredit me personally and the GOPUSA website collectively.
